Luka Dončić records triple-double against Boston in basketball game
Luka Dončić had a triple-double against Boston, but it wasn’t enough for Dallas to secure the win. The Slovenian player scored 33 points, grabbed 18 rebounds, and had 13 assists in 40 minutes on the court. However, the visiting team ultimately triumphed, led by the unstoppable Jason Tatum (39 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) and Jaylen Brown (34 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds), with Kyrie Irving (23 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists) supporting Dončić.
For the past three weeks, the Mavericks have been without Dante Exum, who was delivering phenomenal performances in Irving’s absence. Exum has a foot injury, and it is uncertain when he will be able to return to the court.
After the game, Dallas coach Jason Kidd made a statement that caused controversy. Some interpreted it as a criticism of the referees, while others saw it as a warning to Dončić. During the second quarter, Dončić also received a technical foul.
This was the Mavericks’ third loss in the last four games, and in the next round, they will face the Phoenix Suns, led by Durant, Booker, and Bill. After 43 games, the Mavericks have a record of 24-19, while the Suns stand at 25-18 in the Western Conference. In the Eastern Conference, Boston is in first place with a record of 34-10.
