Nemanja Maksimović prelazi u Panatinaikos umesto Zvezde
Nemanja Maksimović has decided where he will continue his career, and it will not be at Crvena Zvezda. The member of Spanish club Getafe will become a free agent at the end of the season, and according to news from the Pyrenees, he has already signed a preliminary contract with Panathinaikos, which will increase the Serbian colony in Athens. The only thing known is that he received a handsome sum of money for his signature, as he arrives without a transfer fee.
Maksimović had a slow start to the season, but was later returned to the starting lineup, and has made 23 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions. He has been with Getafe since 2018, when he joined from Valencia for 10 million euros, and previously played for Astana, Domzale, and Verona. He initially started his career in the youth categories of Crvena Zvezda, but never made his debut for the club. Recently, General Director Terzic mentioned that they had contacted Maksimović in winter 2023, but the situation in Spain had changed and he stayed there.
“We don’t have many quality players who are playing (…). Maksimović and Milivojević are players we wanted to bring back. We continue to monitor and observe. But there aren’t many quality players who can meet the high demands of Crvena Zvezda,” emphasized Terzic.
