Novak Djokovic will play in Indian Wells. He will participate in the competition where he has lifted the trophy five times and will now attempt to do so for the sixth time. The tournament will take place from March 6th to 17th and the title is defended by Carlos Alcaraz who defeated Daniil Medvedev (6:3, 6:2) last year. In 2019, Novak was eliminated in the third round, losing to Philipp Kohlschreiber (6:4, 6:4).

Miomir Kecmanovic reached the quarterfinals, and in the semifinals, Rafael Nadal withdrew from the match against Roger Federer. The Swiss player then lost to Dominic Thiem in the final (3:6, 6:3, 7:5). It is still unknown whether Novak will play the entire American tour, specifically whether he will go to Miami after Indian Wells, where the second Masters event takes place (from March 20th to 31st). It is known that due to his decision not to get vaccinated, Novak had not been able to participate in tournaments in America.

Now, such restrictions no longer exist. Just as a reminder, Novak won the Indian Wells tournament in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2016. Eight years ago, he defeated Rafa Nadal in the semifinals (7:6, 6:2) and then comfortably defeated Milos Raonic in the final (6:2, 6:0).
