Serbia lost the first two singles matches against Slovakia, defeats by Kecmanović and Lajović. After the first day of competition in Kraljevo, they lost both singles matches. This means that on Saturday they need to win both singles matches and then the doubles match to celebrate.

Otherwise, in September they will have to fight for survival in the World Group instead of competing for a spot in the final tournament and battling for the “salad bowl.” Kecmanović lost to the world’s 115th player Lukaš Klajn, with a score of 7:6 (7:2), 6:2. Krajinović had a good start, winning the first set (6:4) and that was it for him.

Instead of finishing the job, he allowed Molčan to gain momentum in the second set, leading 5:1 and leveling the sets. Then in the third set, there was only one player on the court (6:0), so the final score was 4:6, 6:2, 6:0. The pairs for Sunday’s matches are Kecmanović/Molčan and Lajović/Klajn.

It should also be noted that the captain Viktor Troicki has the right to change the decision one hour before the start of the match. “He hit everything at crucial moments, I didn’t expect that and I lost.”
